Don't try to imagine this all with them on their animal shapes. xD It just doesn't work.
...You probably shouldn't imagine them having sex as animals, either. O _o I'm not quite sure how that'd work.
By the way, I'm pretty sure a lot of you are hooked with the 'seme/uke' concepts, but I don't really care about 'em. xD If anything, if Sebastian and Scuttle had sex, Scuttle would be on the 'receiving' end at first, for Sebastian's sensitive butt's sake.
Some of my characters (or all of them) might fit into a 'seme/uke' roll, but when it comes to romance, it's really all just situational. xD
I agree with the whole uke/seme thing. I like it when you can't totally tell who's really on the receiving end, or better yet, when they like to both take turns being one or the other, seems more realistic that way XD
The seme/Ike generalization works for some, not for all. Just as with real life, there are those who fall into the categories, and those who fall out of them. One of my good friends, who's identified as homosexual since 7th grade, is a strict bottom...and his boyfriend is a strict top. I believe if anything, there are far more seme in real life than uke, whereas in the OC/fiction world it's the opposite. But we can thank testosterone for that.
I think the way Scuttle's and Sebbi's relationship has evolved is absolutely brilliant and a total tribute to your talent :D and this scene is just SO adorable! Love how Sebbi is comfortable enough to actually fall asleep around Scuttle now. Can't wait to see what happens next!!
Hm, I don't really see the 'seme/uke' deal with Sebastian and Scuttle. Or any of the other characters for that matter. I kind of see it like you do, just, situational. When the time comes, it'll just happen and whoever is on top, is on top. Haha! I really like this page, it shows them getting closer.
I laughed hard when you addressed strictly -not- imagining this in their animal shapes. I hadn't even considered it and--thankfully--am unable to picture it.
I agree with the posters that said the traditional seme/uke roles are usually balderdash outside of fiction. They make the interaction feel rather artificial. I've never met anyone (personally) who was strictly one way or the other. Frankly, it seems to me to be more of a scale.
And on the Seme/uke note- I'll be the first to admit that I am a firm fan of the seme/uke roles, more from comfort and preference than anything else. What was interesting to me was that I've also accepted that in a real-life homosexual relationship, couples tend to switch it up- but to my suprise, a conversation with various male gay friends of mine ended with them telling them that although some are volatile, most gay men are either "total tops or bottoms" in their sense of the word. I suppose that in the end, it all depends on the person :3
